Looking for .45 acp accuracy and max loads for Speer #4475 (.451" 200 gr match TMJ SWC). using Hodgdon Titegroup. Also need OAL spec.

Thanks!

My Speer manual (#13) does not list any Hodgdon Titegroup loads for any of their .45 ACP bullets. The OAL spec for that bullet is 1.275".

The fun part of reloading is working up your own loads.

This is what Hodgdon has on there website for Titegroup

200 GR. CAST LSWC Hodgdon Titegroup .451" 1.225" Start 4.8gr 877 fps 13,400 CUP Max 5.4gr 957 fps 16,800 CUP

200 GR. SPR JHP Hodgdon Titegroup .451" 1.155" Start 4.7gr 812 fps 13,700 CUP Max 5.2gr 884 fps 16,900 CUP

I would start with ~ 4.6gr and work your loads from there.

YMMV

and like fairfaxjim says The OAL spec for that bullet is 1.275"

there is nothing wrong with loading up 10 at 4.6 10 at 4.7 and 10 at 4.8. anytime I don't have the exact bullet / powder combo in a book I start lower. just my $.02 Also don't load up 100s of one load until you get a chance to try them. pulling bullets sucks!

That is my approach too. Anytime I am trying a new recipe I like to work up to and then bracket the target load - sometimes you can be pleasantly suprised - both with lower and hotter loads.
