Wow, especially on the second one. Where did you manage to find it?

I'm not a big fan of these type of rifles but the second one is definitely an attention grabber.

If you keep showing rifles like these I might have to reconsider my original statement. Those stocks are incredible, I find it hard to take my eyes off of them.

I already have a Finn M27, but this one popped up this last week and I got it anyway. I'll bet you can't figure out why I bought it.

Two teaser photos. I get it tomorrow. More photos later if you want.

Arctic birch, will you marry me?
Some day, my house's wood floors will be made of arctic birch. Someday...

question on the artic birch...

my Russkie SKS has it too (crusader, you fired it if you recall), but most of the russian mosins dont seem to have it..or do they, and its just hidden under all that shelac which the finns seemed to've scraped off?

if you were to sand down, say, a big5 mosin would you find this sorta yummyness underneath?

If it were that easy, I think a lot of "refinishing" would be going on;)

There is "Artic Birch" and then there is "Artic Birch". Sort of like curly maple is here. Sometimes it has the graining pattern, and sometimes plainer. Most of the time artic birch is plain grained. But sometimes................;)

I have seen the pattering on a SKS before, but only once. I was told the graining has to do with the growing conditions and you see the appropriate growing conditions for the patterning in Finland more than anywhere, but I don't know if that is true or not?????

I did have one person accuse me of "refinishing" my stocks. I really wish I knew how to do that!
