crusader, did you go to the costa mesa show? lot's of 'em there. cash and carry. i bought a carcano and an arisaka, and ammo for them! i love the gun show. good luck in your search, i've only got small ring mausers, two '91s and two '96s. for a good deal and an accurate mauser, i'd look toward turk or persian mausers. they're cheaper and inherently more accurate than the 98 karbines. if you must have one though, czech vz24s are nice, or genuine german k98k. yugo 24/47 and m48s are alright, but not quite as nice. don't fall for that Mitchell's crap either. anyhow, good luck and enjoy whatever you end up with, i love my milsurps.

nherently more accurate than the 98 karbines.
Knucklehead, it is all about bore and chamber condition. I have Turk (which isn't the same as Persian), 98K, and Yugos. I don't think your order of preference means anything. I sure don't think the boys at Ankara have any thing on the Oldendorfers. You are right about Mitchell's, but I have seen many of those sold at a fair price, and wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I have sold two mausers in the last month, and the ones I have are the ones I will keep, otherwise I would be PMing Crusader with a sweet deal.

Not sure if you ever go to the Stockade but last time I was there they had a few Mausers. If you want I could stop by there tomorrow and write down what they have and how much they want for them.

Thanks for the offer. I have some free time, I may just head down that way myself. I usually stay away from Fowler's and the Stockade for C&R rifle purchases, because their prices are a joke. Like the $350 Mosin Nagants they have right now.
But thanks for the heads up.

I get a chuckle out of seeing those prices. I always turn the tag around to see if I will find the real price. I will definitely let you know if I see anything while I am out and about.
BTW did you ever get that ammo you were looking for? Nevermind i'll just PM you.
