Remington 700 Police with the factory HS Precision Stock...

My question is...

Do I need to worry about solvent on my stock while cleaning?

What should I avoid using because it may mess up my stock?

Is there a way to mask off the stock during cleaning?

Should I even worry?

Thanks in advance for the info guys..

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a H&S stock and haven't noticed any damage to the stock using any of the solvents I have (I use many different solvents).

It never hurt mine when stray drips would land on it. I lay a piece of cloth over the stock then put in the bore guide and start running the patches through.

My 700P still looks brand new after frequent shootings and cleanings over the past 2+ years. If anything gets where you don't want it, just take a clean rag and rub it off.
