Ya know I have an AK kit and the need for an AK pistol. What else is involved in making a pistol?

Thefiringlane builds pistols. I bought it used.

If you want to build one you can try a akbuilder flat. I had mine engraved by cali-v.

The receiver shouldn't be an issue, I need to knoe about the rest of the build. The gas tube, the barrel, how long does the piston need to be? Is there an aftermarket piston or do I chop and weld?

Cutting down a kit is a whole mess of work.

Those two ak pistols are factory made krinks. No work involved beyond a standard ak build.

Work......i'm not afraid of work. Tell me it can't be done, i'll prove you wrong.

I'd like to get a couple of builds under my belt first but the AK kit's are getting expensive. Thats one reason why I wanna tear apart one of my Saigas and rebuild so I get the practice.

Decent breakdown here:

http://www.arizonaresponsesystems.com/notes/akpistolbuild/pageakpistolbuild.htm

and now that I've converted my Saiga223 to take ar mags, I might have to keep a lookout for another one for cheap to tear apart and build into a pistol with the same adapter.

Yeah dude that was very cool. It looks pretty good too, now if you could get the finish to match and maybe some kind of blend job to round out the edges that would be SWEEEEEET!

Ok, excuse my stupidity since I dont know much about these type of pistols, but I thought that in the state of California anything under 30" long with the .223 or .308 calibers were illegal and I'm guessing that those are the .223 and .308 calibers.

actually they're more like 5.56x45 & 7.62x39, but whatever...
there is no stipulation or law in CA (or anywhere) that links caliber to OAL... its either a rifle or a pistol or shotgun no matter what the caliber (for the most part... there are some exceptions), and the appropriate rules regarding OAL apply.

Nice collection....I wanted to share my little ones as well...Maybe we can set up a play date. Was cleaning the SAR8 so I decided to throw it in there as well. (pistol grip is off as I'm trying to make it featureless rifle) All have BB's and all mags shown are 10 rds.
