All after beingat travis afb for the last 10 years I have orders to go to Minot ND. I'll be out of here mid august. Actually pretty excited, never thought I would say that about Minot, but I can't wait.

Man, the AF leaves you guys in one spot for a long time. At least you're going to a free state.

Yeah it's not normal though. Crew chief on c-5s, so I've been stuck for a while. Now I get to go work on b-52s. Can't wait, plus the gun laws out thee are gonna be great.

Lived at Minot AFB in 75-77, I remember snow drifts taller then a single story building.

Good luck dude! From what I've heard from people that were stationed there it's a really small town. I'm a fellow Crew Chief currently stationed at Ellsworth AFB working the B-1. I hear that C-5s are pretty much pigs. You should have a pretty good time with the buff from what I keep hearing about it's maintenance being cake compared to the Bone.

EDIT - BTW... How is Travis? I've been trying to get orders and Travis has been on my BOP list for a while.

Being stationed in Minot, you'll probably get some deployments to Guam at least:thumbsup:.

good luck man, i don't want to scare you but minot is not the greatest place  they're standing up a new command right now for the B-52's. That plane is good to work on, but you're gonna have to be there while they iron out all the wrinkles in this new command. They're trying to get a bunch of us there too, I'm fighting it with all my might. I'm a 2A5X3A Bomber Avionics. Again good luck, and make sure you get a block heater for your vehicle, or a snowmobile to drive to work :p
