What is the difference between the Magpul MOE and the CTR? What are the pros and cons of both?

CTR:
- QD sling mounting point
- locking latch

MOE:
- cheaper
- rattle more than CTR, CTR doesn't move, doesn't rattle at all (due to the locking latch)

CTR locks in place and has zero wiggle in the stock. The MOE is like a standard collapsible stock. I think there may be a difference in sling attachment points, but I am not sure.

It is fine. No need to change the tube. You will get no benefit.

I have both on both types of tubes, and the CTR locks up noticeably tighter, basically wiggle free. The MOE will still have some play, but its much better than most adjustable M4 stocks out there. The CTR is for people that want 100% lock up and also the rear QD mounts.
CTR...all the way,get the upgrade and you never have to worry about what you are missing!

i got the moe, I didnt get the CTR for a few reasons, 30-40$ more, sling point not needed as I have a sling plate and I dont think the locking position really is needed.

adjusting the length on the moe is fine, not really much wiggle if any at all either. totally up to you if you wanna spend the extra $.

if you can goto a shop that has both and try both. decide for yourself.

My MOE doesn't rattle. It's on a Stag or VLTOR milspec tube; I'm not sure which.
The MOE doesn't have the QD sling mount, so if you need one of those get a CTR.

CTR's are a tiny bit more money and I would really dish out the extra few dollars for them. I have both and like the CTR's better.

I'd go for the MOE unless you need the quick detach sling point. There's a big thread on ar15.com about this, they say that the lock mechanism on the CTR is mainly so that you don't accidently adjust the stock due to a sling or some equipment getting caught on it.

I have both and the only real difference I see is cost. The CTR does lock down but the MOE is pretty stable as wella nd is tons better then a plain M4 adjustable stock.

I have the MOE 'cuz everywhere I look the CTR is back ordered. Still, I'm very happy with the MOE. Very study.

We have quite a few CTR and MOE in stock if anybody is looking. I prefer the CTR, but it is about $40 more.

Owned the CTR, sold it and bought an MOE. MOE is just as good for less money.

Get the CTR.... in the whole scheme of things, what's $40.... a couple boxes of ammo... that's about it...

My MOE works perfecr for me. I have no use for the extra features of a CTR.
