I'm looking for an iron sight for a low profile rail gas block on a 20" HBL. that I plan on using for some intermediate to long distance target shooting. I'm leaning toward the POF no-snag hooded sight (http://www.dsarms.com/POF-Hooded-Snag-Free-Front-Sight-Tall/productinfo/POF2005T/).

or something like the Midwest Industries tall folding sight (http://www.cgwgun.com/Iron-BUIS-Sights/Midwest-Sight-Front-Gas-Block-BUIS__MCTAR-FFG.aspx)

Anyone have experience with these sight or have other favorites?

How about pros and cons of folding vs non-folding?

If I use this sight with a Troy rear sight what rings would you recommend I use to mount a scope?

Check with POF, but I'm pretty sure their "tall" does not mean gas-block height.

The POF uppers are raised above std flat-top height, so their "normal" is shorter than rail height.

WOW! Good to know!
That kind of information is (just one of the reasons) why I love this forum!

Any other gas-block front sights ???
Thanks!

If you want fixed, consider the YHM fixed.

It looks fugly, but it's strong and simple.
