Anyone have any opinions of these endplates?

Daniel Defense Rear Receiver QD Swivel
http://riflegear.com/images/PRODUCT/medium/453.jpg
$49.99 and comes with the swivel (I think)

Noveske QD End Plate
http://riflegear.com/images/PRODUCT/medium/545.jpg
$24 and swivel is separate

Magpul ASAP Ambidextrous Sling Attachment Point
http://riflegear.com/images/PRODUCT/medium/538.jpg
$29.95

So 3 different endplates from 3 top-tier companies. Who likes what and why?

This will be going on my M4orgery for use with a single point sling. I know the ASAP is all the rage, but I feel like some that is due to Magpul fanboyism. The "loose" metal ring on the ASAP seems like it would be clinking around a lot when not in use and that would probably annoy me when not using a sling.

keep in mind that some of these end plates can prevent stocks like magpul CTRs not to collapse to its shortest position. the magpul ASAP uses that ring to solve the problem.

I like magpul products, but not a fan of the ring on the ASAP mount. loose, klinky, etc.

As for the others, I don't have QD mounts/points/slings/swivels, etc, so I don't have those.

The one I was surprised with was the Vltor single point mount. Dad got one for his AR and like I said, surprised.

I use this one on my dedicated .22lr AR
http://www.parallaxtactical.com/store/images/pm140bsite.jpg
$11.99

I use this one on my 5.56/.223 AR
http://www.parallaxtactical.com/store/images/asc_cutout_oblique_angle.jpg
$24.99

This one seems a better choice than the Magpul ASAP, IMHO. No chain link to clank around.

$19.95

All prices are from Parallax Tactical's website. I don't have a single-point sling w/ QD attachment...yet. Need one (eventually) for my AR w/ UBR stock which doesn't require an endplate.

How about Troy Industries? These also allow stocks to collapse to zero position.

This one goes over the castle nut:

Funny thing is, none of these options are good. The DD and Noveske prevent the stock from collapsing all the way AND the QD swivel is too "high" and in an awkward position (hard to remove QD, sling isn't free to turn/move).

The two-sided QD mounts are terrible for quick transitions from shoulder to shoulder. And the Magpul one does clink annoyingly, and the loose link is hard to pin down when trying to attach a sling hook.

Out of all the sling plates shown, the best one is probably the last one shown in asgalindez' post.

I'd really like to see a sling plate that extends the QD swivel diagonally downwards, directly beneath but angled away from the buffer tube, but is compact enough to allow the stock to fully collapse, including Mapgul's CTR and MOE stocks.

Thanks for all the great responses................now my decision is even harder!

Anyone try cutting off the link on the ASAP and attaching directly to the bar?

I do have a CTR on that gun so thanks for the heads up on the QD plates.

BEFORE you find a sling mount.... decide which SLING first...

The noveske does indeed work with the stock completely collapsed and still gives full range of motion with my magpul sling. Works just like a ASAP but without a loose extra link.

They work so well I got 2 of them. I would put them on all my lowers but the other ones have UBRs

I have just installed the Troy OEM4 that was shown above. Looks good, built good. Just got a CQD Dieter sling to go with it.

There are a lot of good options here. I *don't* recommend any model with skinny "ears," I learned that one the hard way when I had to rig my (Midwest Industries) sling adapter with a piece of bootlace because the ears were too skinny for the clip on my (Blackhawk) single-point. I am way less fashionable on the range now. So whatever you go with, make sure it has a ring or wide "ears" for the attachment point.

I'm probably going to go back to a three-point, anyway. Much better, IMO, if you're going to be carrying a rifle for any length of time. Of course that's a veteran's perspective, and I don't foresee having to do that again in my lifetime unless SHTF lands...Single-points have many advantages, as well.

Hmm. Weird. I assume then that you aren't using Magpul CTR or MOE stocks, which have that funny protrusion below the buffer tube. Any QR swivel that goes into the Noveske plate would still stick out and get hit by the CTR/MOE protrusion.

But the Noveske's good to go for just about every other collapsible stock out there.

Anyone try cutting off the link on the ASAP and attaching directly to the bar?

You don't have to cut the link off to give it a try--just attach the sling to the rail instead of the link. I am absolutely unable to get the Magpul sling's little brass hook to fit in there between the rail and the plate, but other brands of snap hook might work.

If there was a way to simply rubber-coat the link, that would probably solve all of the clinking problems--at least until the rubber gets scraped off.

the link is what allows the sling to be connected to the plate when the stock is fully collapsed. if you take that link off you would have to lace the webbing through the bar because i doubt an HK clip would fit on it.

Just tried a mash hook and an HK snap hook on the rail/bar without the link. Neither one fit between the bar and the plate. DANG.

I do use a CTR. The plug actually goes into the little hole of the lower receiver

Wow! What brand and model of swivel are you using? Mine were too tall for the stock to close completely--this is great news, as I could switch to a Noveske + QD now...

(I still like the ikickhippies design the most, though.)

Just a regular 1.25" QD swivel that came with the DD mount I got a while back. It pushes down slightly on the button when fully collapsed but that thing isnt going to pop loose.

Thanks. I don't remember what brand my QD swivels are--will check out the DD swivels.

J_Rock: Is that the Noveske endplate in your photos? The Daniel Defense one appears to have a lot more material surrounding the QD.
