View Full Version : Advice please ACOG on 20" A2

I'm getting a colt 20" hbar a2 upper in today. I was planning on getting a trijicon acog 4x32 a4 model later when I save up some more money.
Will the optic be mounted too high? Anyone have any problems with this setup?
thanks for your help ahead of time.

People do it, but I think the ACOG works better on a flat-top upper.
Think about it, the bottom of the the ACOG carry handle mount has a hole that you can see though to use the iron sights. That means that the optics are above the natural line of sight of the rifle. You might wind up needing a cheek riser, but they can interfere with the charging handle.

You're better off tailoring the $600 optic to your $1200 ACOG.
I'd suggest getting a flat-top and doing it right.
