I havn't been able to go into my local Home Depot and I can't find any information regarding gun safes on their web site. Can anyone tell me what is the usual price range of gun safes at Home Depot?
Thanks!
$369 for the larger fireproof safe with the lockbox inside.
This was at the one in hawthorn/santa monica

Thanks Josh.
That's sounds like a good price for a safe that is fireproofed with a lock box...... I remember that they usually only carry one kind of safe, not much of a selection. Did that change, do they have a couple to look at?
they only had the sentry brand and usually its only 1 model.
I saw one yesterday, it was the 14 gun capacity.
Looks like a pretty good deal to me.

I wish Home Depot had safe information on their website..... I'll keep looking, then again I guess its time to make a run to my local Home Depot.

Only the larger Home Depot's carry them. I had to call about 5 stores before I found one in Hayward (Bay Area).
They look like a good deal to me for a cheap safe.

I'm in the East Bay and I could have sworn I've never seen a safe at the Pittsburg location... Then again I was always looking for other toys while there. I'll check out a few local Home Depots in the area. Thanks for the replies everyone!

Last night I checked out that Sentry safe at my local Home Depot. For $369, it seems like a pretty good deal. Though it's not the best looking safe, I'm sure it'll get the job done. I've just been looking for a not too heavy fireproof safe that doesn't take up too much space. Does anyone here know if that safe can be bolted down?

Yes! I just bought one last night
yes the sentry safes have holes in the bottom so you can bolt it down.

hey I bought one a year ago, I don't remember reading anything about them being FIREPROOF.
I looked in the back of my safe for the model number and according to their website. That model is not Fireproof. So unless Home Depot is selling a new type of safe, don't count on it being fireproof.
It depends on the model, not all sentry safes are rated for fire.
The ones that are have a sheet rock lining.

So what model is it?
Like I said, the HomeDepot safe I got is not fireproof according to the model number and verified with Sentry's website.
So is HD selling a different safe that is fireproof now?
ive seen a few different models of sentry safes at various HD stores. The one my friend picked up is rated for fire.
just picked one up at home depot (hercules store). it is not rated for fire, only the GS and GT sentry safes are rated for fire. the one i picked up is a g5XXX model, 14 gun capacity with the lock box inside. not a bad deal for the money. bonus is i bought a 10% off coupon from ebay which made the safe 332.99. i dont mind the looks of it, picked up the last black one but they had 3 green ones left.

Just to double check, these safes met the CA DOJ requirements in combination, thickness etc, right ?
Thanks in advanced.
