Damn, that barrel looks ungodly long. I thought it was like 30" long until I online conversion'd 600 millimeters. About 23" more or less. But still...

Get that kit! Building an Iraqi Tabuk DMR clone is very cool. It's a unique and rare build. Copes only made a limited number of the 23 inch barrels a couple of years ago. I have mine. I also have the NDS9 receiver, NDS long flash suppressor, PSL type scope rails, and my friend and I bought Yugo M70 front ends from Centerfire when they were $229 each. Our gas blocks have finally been pulled from the barrel and are on their way to a guy who's modifying them. The front end were numbers matching by the way. The barrel just needs to have the lower HG retainer cut and the gas port drilled. It's already threaded. Ironwood is doing a limited run on the Tubuk butt stocks, and you can use Saiga cleaning rods (no place to attach it on the Saiga so you won't miss it) cause they are the perfect length. Buy a PSL scope and 10/20 AK mags and you're ready to rock. My friend is even going to cold blue the entire rifle to be more authentic.

I actually have a Maadi RPMS that I have been waiting to turn into a Tabuk clone. Have had it for over 2 years and still haven't done anything to it. I can't wait to have the money for it though - a Tabuk clone, on an Egyptian rifle, made on Russian equipment.....yeah, I think I'll like it.

That's great. I have a Maadi RML carbine. As close to a Russian AKM as you can get.
How are you going to deal with the scope mount?

Wait!!!!!!!! The add says "no sales where prohibited sorry California" Where does it say a NDS-9 receiver on the list???? It doesn't! I would send this guy a friendly email to inform him that this is legal in Cali. I just got a Romy kit this weekend and need funds for that build or i'd be on this like white on rice.

P.S. i've convinced more than a couple of sellers to ship to Cali on Gunbroker. I also made the case to Cadiz gun works.........who ships Saiga 12's to Cali.

This is the main reason I haven't put money into it. I am thinking of either paying someone to do it (but who can you REALLY trust with something like that) or what will probably happen is I will end up making a jig and doing it myself.

The nice thing with my Maadi is the paint is coming off pretty bad in some areas so I won't feel bad about ruining the good finish. Who knows, I might be able to chemically remove it all and get a nice cold blue on it to REALLY bring out that Pharroh's head...
