Please Stand-Up and Make Your Voices Heard!:patriot: (This is just PURE BS!)

Assembly Bill 962 and Senate Bill 585 are scheduled to be considered on Thursday, May 28.

AB962, sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), is in the Assembly Committee on Appropriations. AB962 would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require purchasers submit to fingerprinting, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited.

SB585 is currently in the Senate Appropriations Committee. Introduced by State Senator Mark Leno (D-3), SB585 would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace. In short, SB585 is a stepping-stone to banning gun shows on all publicly-owned property in California.

Please contact the members of the Assembly and Senate Appropriations Committees and respectfully urge them to oppose AB962 and SB585. Contact information for the committees can be found below.

Actually somewhat pertinent since all of us browsing this forum obviously buy/sell/trade ammo, and most likely more than 50 rounds privately per month. :)

"Are you selling copies of the bill? "

So, you take this as non-relevent to this part of the Forum?

Would you have looked at this at all if it were in another section of the Forum?

I think that this is an appropriate place to have such a notice published and I thank the person thinking enough to do so.

I really wish a pro gun group of republicans and democrats would introduce a bill to ban free speech at the cow palace and make the argument that if the second doesn't apply every where neither does the first.

I just got through emailing everyone of the listed parties with an email address to let them know how I feel about this.
Hopefully, you have too.

I really wish that would happen too...but the odds of that happening in California are pretty slim.

I actually posted in two different spots and one was the private sales ammo section. If it offended, sorry (to those it did, you'll get over it). I guess move on and keep your fingers crossed that the bill does not go thru??

Revoman.....we ALL need to do this. Good for you

Again... the problem with California having a full-time legislature. They justify their pitiful existance by introducing ridiculous bills, one after the other. I REALLY hope people remember to throw the bums out in 2010.

Nope, all will be forgotten except it's all the Republican Party's fault (because Schwarzenegger is a Republican)

Actually there is already a thread here (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=176297) on these two bills but the more eyes we have on it the better IMHO. BTW,you're right they're both BS.

I am not sure if this is FUD or any reality to it but I have heard rumor that the weight of different form of communication comes into play.

Written Letter > Phone Call > Email

Still,a ny contact is better than none.

For what its worth, Nielsen and Duvall confirmed they are voting no and the about four or five of them seemed to expect me to say I was opposed when I mentioned AB 962. Ammiano's office even mentioned they had an "overwhelming volume of opposed"
