View Full Version : Dove hunting in eastern sierra's

I'm gonna be up in Mammoth on September 1, during the dove opener. I was hoping that someone could tell me of anywhere around Bishop, etc. where there is some public land open for dove hunting. Any info would be greatly appreciated. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I believe most of the land around the Owens river is open to hunting. If you travel in the area, there are many gates and these are usually open with signs that say please close after crossing. Best bet is to ask the local sports shops in Bishop.

My friend, Joel the mole of the ski patrol, says bishop is super for dove hunting. I'd get a map from the forest service. The F.S and BlM land are generally open to the public.

I believe that most of the DWP land is still open, though it's been 18 years since I used to go rabbit hunting out there after school (Big Pine HS) got out in the afternoon.....
