I bought mags for my CZ40B straight from the source

https://shop.cz-usa.com/SearchByCategory.aspx?CategoryCode=35

Seems CZ wants 45.00 a pop though for the 75B 10Rd mags. That's pricey.

yeh i thought $40 was on the high side.

so far it seems $40 for a factory mag or $20 for promag.

i hope the cz cult has a spot for reasonable factory/mecgar 10 round mags.

at this rate i will end up buying $25 mecgar hicap kits and make them into 10 rounders.

Any issues with specifically with CZ Promag 10 rounders? I just bought a couple from Midway.

I have heard mixed reviews on the cz 75 pro mags but I bought 3 to try. They have been perfect for the last year (2000 rds or so)

other than they are PROMAG?:p

every promag i have seen or had was poor quality. crap springs, soft steel mag bodies, out of spec bodies. with a quality spring (wolff) they are fine for the range until the feedlips bend.

i chopped up a few magpul followers and used ar15 mag springs to get a few of my wifes preban mini 14 promags working fine.

hmm, CZ itself doesn't seem to sell any compact .40 mags???

Or are they compatible with cz75 .40 mags??

my wifes preban mini 14 promags working fine.

When you heard about those, did you book the hall and the chapel?

I have several Promags for my 75B and P-01, and none of them has given me trouble, except recently one magazine for P-01 sometimes does not have enough force to push slide lock up. Not a big problem though.

Rule of thumb is that you do not use promags except for range use.

I saw some CZ 75B 10rd 9mm mags at the Del Mar Gunshow once and I bought them all! They only had 3, though. They were around $15/ea. Don't know the manufacturer. The mag bodies were dimple-blocked to 10rds. They've never given me any problems.

ETA: I just saw a pic of CZ Promags and my mags look similar. They're probably Promags.

Those are promags. I got mine through Crossroads gun show too.

The promags are better than the CZ factory 10 rounders for IPSC, IDPA and such.
The stupid extended plastic baseplate can shift just enough on the CZ mags to prevent mag insertion during hi-speed relaods. Once they are in the gun, the CZ 10rd mags are great.

Thanks for the useful info on the factory mags. $40 for magazines that hang up during insertion? No thanks.

I have both factory mags and promag 15 rounders. The promags aren't quite as well made but they work. The springs seem weaker though. Another option is to find some mec-gar 10 rounders. They are a little different than factory and they work well. Mark

Anyone have a good source for some 10-round mags that will work in a pre-B model? Seems that there really is not a good source for CA-legal ones and I'd not trust my life to the Promag ones based upon the many issues others have had using them.

A few notes I picked up from someone was that the factory CZ-75B mags WILL work but require a bit of modification to the magazine release notch in order to get them to seat correctly. While I'm gearing up for that I'd really be curious if someone had any other ideas on this since I'm looking to get at least 3 or 4.

I don't think Mec-Gar makes 10 rounders for the CZ 75 anymore. It's not listed on their website and Midway doesn't list it in their catalog or online.

Pro-Mag usually has a shoddy reputation with magazines. But for the 10 round CZ 75, everything I've read here and other forums seem to indicate that they work okay.

anyone know if regular 75b .40 mags will work with the 75b compact .40 pistol?

I'm not sure about .40 mags, but regular 9mm mags work for compact size ones.

They will work, but they will stick out of the grip too far.

I use 9mm mags in my .40 CZ-75B.
I can't say they will work 100% for you, but it is something to consider.

I tried some Promags once and will never again, I had nothing but problems with those things - jammed up rounds like nobody's business. :( I gave away the ones I had.

There's someone around here (memory thinks his Calguns name is "thomasanelson") who has 2 40 Compact 75 mags for $20ea in the For-Sale which is a smokin' deal.... here ya go, here's his thread:

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=157131

The slide stop... "nub" (?) is shaped differently on a 9mm vs 40, so you'll want to use the right slide stop if you're cross-using mags so that they catch correctly (for instance I'm thinking of using my 40 slide in a 9mm SA body). The 9mm has a simpler one-slice cut to it, the 40 has like 3 or 4 faces cut at a few different angles.

I managed to snatch up 40 S&W mags from this website for $30ea (Mec-Gars), looks like they went up $2 for $31.99 now. They seem like NOS (new old stock) as the followers are shaped a little differently, but they work just fine so far.

http://www.smokewagongear.com/p-482-cz-75-40sw-10rd-mag.aspx

I couldn't find them cheaper anywhere (well, Google couldn't :) ). They seem to be out of stock right now, but keep an eye on that page. When you Google use "CZ 11102" for 9mm and "CZ 11103" for 40 S&W, that'll get you better results using their part number(s).

Hope this helps...
