That's awesome they're importing Bulgarian milled AK's again. If you want the best AK around, get an Arsenal milled AK. Worth every penny. KVAR will not ship to CA so use a middle man FFL.

Those milled Bulgarians are so smooth, but so pricy.

And add a middle man to the mix and they are really expensive then

it's good news for most which is a good thing ... however not good for me. I already have one and it's not going to be worth as much. So much for limited production lol

I heard the new SA M-7's that K-Var will be offering will have a different front sight base then the original SA M-7's? The originals had 24mm FSB's and the new ones will have russian type 3 FSB's. Is this true? What are the differences in the two? Is one better?

BTW.....I am in for a group buy as well!

Yes,this is true.Otherwise the only difference is that the original SA M-7 had the entire FSB longer and narrower(1/2" pin separation)with the AK-74 muzzle break style which has 24mm muzzle threads than earlier examples, and the new one will have its noticeable wide sight appearance(3/4" pin separation)with a 14mm muzzle threads nut style. Most commonly refer by western experts as the type lll, which denotes the original AK-47 model.See attached pics!!

Hate to burst your bubble hawk1547, but I know for a fact that both Kvar and Arsenal Inc. will not ship directly to California. I also know that they will take action on any of their authorized dealers who ship their rifles into California.

This is directly from the owner of both companies.

Btw, I agree with you, the Arsenal AK's are the best!

Sorry to give you the bad news.

I can confirm that Chris knows what he's talking about. I can't say how he knows so well, but trust me, it's true.

$1200 - $1500 is absolute insanity. It's like buying a regular Mosin-Nagant 91/30 for $500.

The Arsenal Milled reciever AK is totally worth it. If you ever get to handle one, you will see that its action is extremely smooth, and for an AK, it has very good accuracy.

It is made with high quality parts.

It is not a run of the mill AK.

:rofl2:

You go ahead and tool up to produce one cheaper or make the foreign contacts and deal with the paperwork to import them to sell them for less.

Or.... know what you're talking about before you speak.

You've probably never seen or shot a Milled Arsenal AK, have you? Those things are the smoothest shooting AK variants in the World. Arsenal Milled rifles are the equivalent to a Noveske, Magpul, or LaRue gun.

Absolutely worth every penny. However, prices for the milled Bulgarians went as high as $2500 during the mad rush after the election. Those were insane prices. Pre-election they still sold in the $1100-$1200 range, so it's not a huge increase like the Romanians and the Russian Saiga's.

I seriously doubt they will ship to CA. They wouldn't even ship me a parts kit a few years ago. Took my order, phone #, CC number, address, '' Oh, you are in California, sorry.'' K-var is still good for parts though.

Certainly Chris was right, they will not ship directly to kommiefornia.I just got off the phone with K-Var folks earlier today, and I got a slap in the face and sad response. No, nothing, zero, nada, for CA.I feel upset, because of these ridiculous, unconstitutional firearms laws we have in kommiefornia, and obviously,I was misinformed by those typical gunshops employees that don't know anything about the William Jefferson Clinton Ugly Gun ban of 1994-2004,my apologies for that.Regardless of the sad fact,I just wanted to pointed out that it was not my intention to make things up or lied about the availability of these great rifles to CA market.
Sorry to give you all the bad news.

I agree, definately if you want the best AK money can buy your only choice is Arsenal milled receivers, but if we can't get them, who cares if we have a lot of sources to get them, just need to wait for them to be imported into the US markets as kits parts.:D

Point A - no barrels, if they manage to get imported into the US. Some day, sure, we'll have domestically produced barrels, but parts kits are unlikely to ever be as accessible as they once were.

Point B - all the AK's I looked at in that pic (didn't look TOO closely) had rivets in the front trunions, making them AKM's. Might have been a milled one or two in there somewhere...

grammaton, please don't get offended,my point was trying to make a joke, comparing the Arsenal AK'S quality against the Chinese or Romanian kits we are used to build on our AK's!

Ah, gotcha. I wasn't offended, just wasn't sure if you'd noticed the rivets.
