I have a Bohica 16 1/2" .50 DTC rifle. This is just a plinking rifle for me. What is the least expensive scope that could handle a .50???? I do not want to buy anything like a Nighforce since this is just for plinking around.
I was thing about just using iron sights but I think I would rather have a scope.

Why 16" for a 50? If just "plinking" around, go with an Aimpoint.

A 16" was all I could get. When I bought it there was still a 6 month wait on a 36" upper. I figured I would get the 16" since I did not know if I would ever be able to get a 36". This rifle will never be able to compete with a 36" so i do not want to go crazy buying a high end scope. I live near Angeles and would like a scope that would be good for the 400 yards plates.

Take a look at some bushnell's. They have a lifetime warranty, so after it breaks from the recoil, you can get it fixed for free instead of ending up with a busted scope w/ no warranty. Generally, cheap scopes don't like the recoil of a .50 after awhile.

Just put a set of back up iron sights or red dot on it...

That's what I have on my 18" UltraLite and UltraMag 50s. Work great out to 400yds.

What happened to the scope you had on it? It handled pretty well with that one on it when we tried it out...

Good God, .50 DTC with a 16" barrel... not even sure I'd throw on anything with glass in it!

Nice "plinker"... though the sound will be less like "plink" and more like "kaboom-whoosh-klanggggg!!!!!" :D
