Looking for a 22MAG or 17 HMR or 17MACH2 or 22 WMR I can go up a little on the price but not much. Must have iron sights. I have $125 cash in hand today plus I will pay for the PPT and DROS if needed but I prefer an old cash and carry single shot bolt action. I can get a new Mossberg 817 for $179.99 at Big5 right now so I want to get a used one cheaper.

I need a Cash and Carry handgun if they exist. I have $100 cash in hand.

Cash & Carry - - - bloack powder only I believe - but not sure if you can get a good cap and ball revolver for that amount

This is true.
Black powder pistol is exempt. Sounds kinda henky though at first.

So there are no such handguns as a cash and carry? No matter the year of manufacture?

The only legal cash and carry handguns in California are "antiques".

Here's the definition of antique.

"The term 'antique firearm' means -

* (A) any firearm (including any firearm with a matchlock, flintlock, percussion cap, or similar type of ignition system) manufactured in or before 1898; and
* (B) any replica of any firearm described in subparagraph (A) if such replica -
o (i) is not designed or redesigned for using rimfire or conventional centerfire fixed ammunition, or
o (ii) uses rimfire or conventional centerfire fixed ammunition which is no longer manufactured in the United States and which is not readily available in the ordinary channels of commercial trade."

So you can cash & carry cartridge handguns made in or before 1898. Colt, Smith & Wesson, Merwin Hulbert, etc. You won't find many in the $100 price range.

I have a C&R Marlin Model 60 22lr if you are interested. It's in really good shape it is a bolt action but takes a magazine. It also looks like I'm fairly local, if you are interested shoot a PM for details.

You could buy an old Ruger 10/22 and convert it to a .17HM2...
