As stated over and over again in this forum, we need to read and understand the laws so we can be legal and safe all the time. I like how the different laws are discussed and explained in layman's terms. But I wonder if I have not found the thread or forum section yet. Is there a section here on CG that have the explanations and laws listed together for each issue in summarized form with pertinent Penal Codes and other supporting documents that can be printed out easily? For example, UOC laws and related explanations summarized for quick printing if you want to start UOC yourself. Another set of printable stuff for OLL related documents, transporting AW, maybe one set for carrying of Shotgun or Rifle in the vehicle at all times, Open loaded carry inside your property (recent thread about bump in the night and detainment by cops), poor man's CCW, etc...

I know that all these issues have been discussed over and over again. But most of the threads are very long and taking a grasp of what document or explanation is printable and useful to have with you is sometimes very time consuming and confusing to non-legal minds. OK! :( I know some people will get irritated and might even flame me. "Do the research yourself! It is all here on CGN." Yes, we all can do that! I used the search and came up with long threads for each issue I mentioned. That's why I hope and wish for summarized and direct to the point information. This request is just not for me. Maybe other members do not have that much time on their hands to browse threads and summarize the points and documents. There is the error factor also especially with regards to interpretations and such of the different topics and discussions of the issues. Maybe if it is summarized for printing and double checked by experts and legal minds here then it is more useful for all the members. The thread can be locked and changed only by Mods and experts at the issues. Then we can just print a few pages for each topic/issue, and these printed papers can be nicely tucked into gun cases, etc. if needed.

Please move this post if it is in the wrong section...

And in some cases, what you want isn't quite possible.

Unloaded Open Carry, for example, is based on a LACK OF a law to prohibit it: PC 12025 makes CONCEALED carry illegal without CCW, and 12031 makes LOADED carry illegal in public places, so if you are not carrying either loaded or concealed, you have UOC.

Keep in mind LOC was legal before 12031 came into existence (in the 60s or 70s I think).

For open carry and transport:

http://www.californiaopencarry.org/
http://www.californiaopencarry.org/faq.html
http://www.californiaopencarry.org/CaliforniaOpenCarry.pdf

and of course for open carry:

http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum12/

For OLL:

http://www.calguns.net/caawid/flowchart.pdf
http://www.hoffmang.com/firearms/Sacramento-PD-OLL_Training_Bulletin-2008-11-18.pdf

And there are no restrictions on OLL transport, as they are just rifles. If you actually own a registered assault weapon, it's the same as the handgun 12026.1 exemptions, locked case.

And just browse through Gene's firearms folder. It's full of good stuff:

Good links on the open carry issue, but that's not the only topic I mentioned...

Read http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/index.php/Main_Page

Read -all- of it.

Tell me what's missing, and be specific.

Yep. Can't have those black folks scaring the legislators.
