Baca says only certain CLASSES of people get permits. You have to have already been a victim. Unbelievable. Seems like you could sue based on your social status. Where is my equal protection ? This guys needs to be tossed OUT.

Of course I have been in Pharos in Alhambra when he and his bodyguard are having dinner. I believe he lives in San Marino.

He lives in San Marino. Maybe we should provide free housing for the police chiefs in the worst area of their jurisdiction so they can better understand the different "classes" of people especially for LASD and LAPD.

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

It's not free, but when my brother was LEO, HUD had a program called something like "The officer in your neighborhood". He bought a condo within his department's juristiction in a less than desireable neighborhood. He only paid ~$30k of the cost. The stipulation was that he spend 3 years in it as his primary residence. Good luck getting a chief to go that way, though.

His house is modest by San Marino standards...plus it's south of Huntington, haha.

Could you imagine the pantie waist liberals reaction to someone like him being the new sheriff in town, or for that matter the ads running on tv and radio during the election process. It would be awesome!

Joe is a lunatic.

Sigh.

Where do I even start?

The local alternative paper in Phoenix did some digging into his personal real estate fortune. What they found was property FAR in excess of what he could possibly have scored legitimately at his pay grade. He was hiding stuff under cutouts of various sorts. And when they published the whole list as being the closest proof we've had to how corrupt the sumbich is, he tried to jail the reporters.

You wouldn't even believe the number of lawsuits this guy has lost concerning jail conditions, public records, civil rights issues of every description.

I know a guy who was a state legislator at the same time his son was in "good ol' Joe's" custody on an amazingly BS charge. Every time the legislator started looking into corruption, his son ran into trouble in jail, ranging from beatings to being denied critical medication.

Sheriff Joe is as corrupt as the three most recent sheriffs in Sacramento PLUS sheriff Carona in OC put together. He's got the prosecutor's office in his county locked up tight, and if he ever loses control over that office he'll need to relocate to Costa Rica immediately.

Start with this one example:

http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2008-08-28/news/joe-arpaio-s-men-fail-to-justify-criminally-charging-new-times-reporter-ray-stern-in-a-public-records-dispute/

http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2008/10/ray_stern_is_freed_charges_aga.php

This is just one small example of what goes on, and one that has come to a complete conclusion in the courts with all charges dismissed.

The biggest incident is the jailing over the release of real estate records. Start here:

http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2007-10-25/news/who-s-sorry-now/

...and follow up here:

http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2007-10-18/news/breathtaking-abuse-of-the-constitution/

Yet again: I'm showing you a case where Joe's people went and jailed reporters, and then had to drop all charges.

Joe is a complete and utter freak.

This is about two years old. Too bad they didn't update it with Sandra Hutchens.
