Hey guys, I've been wanting a surplus rifle to work over. I'm leaning towards the Enfield or the Mosin Nagant 91/33.

I want one with parkerized metal, good bore, and refinished stock.

However, I came across this: http://www.marstar.ca/gf-AIA/M10-N4.shtm

The rifles have nice looking teak wood stock and are parkerized. They also have:

Chrome-lined free-floating target-crowned barrels,
Use .308 Winchester ammunition
factory setup for optional steel weaver scope rail,
forged receiver 1.5x thicker than the original, and
Brewer locking collar (Savage) headspacing system

Does anyone have any experience with this rifle and manufacturer?

These are not being imported in to the US.

You can just get an Indian Ishapore 2A/2A1 in 7.62NATO. Usually run about $200.

Previous post on this topic. (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=185497)

The AIA Enfields are banned from importation into the USA due to parts of the firearm being made in Viet Nam.

A few hundred AIA M10-A1 (7.62x39mm uses AK magazines) did get into the USA before it was banned. They pop up on the auction sites every now & then, usually selling for $650+.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll pick up a Mosin Nagant. Interordinance sells decent looking refinished ones for 100 bucks.

Maybe I'll turn them into project guns.
