BTW: which barrel is that?

Some details are not 100%... the gas block is made by Vltor... I could have use PRI's micro gas block

I noticed that CRANE used a Colt upper on this one...is that because it's what they have or by choice? I know a lot of people are using the MUR on precision uppers because it's supposed to be so consistently straight.

im just curious, but should you really be showing the pictures of equipment that clandestine operators use in their operations? Hence "clandestine"? Don't get me wrong, great equipment here. But if anyone of us can access this forum, so can someone who could use this information/intelligence to harm/hurt these guys. Especially if you're giving details on specifics of equipment and what they're used for.

If you were in a country were the 5.56x45 was not common would you want to leave a brass signature that you were there or would you like to blend in with the natives or stick out like a sore thumb? Think covert.

Well, not exactly. If the natives use ppsh41s are you really going to bring those along instead of your modern gear? Sure, there's a low signature way to do things, but that's not anyone other than Tier One units. Foreign weapons familiarity is the number one reason to have them and this is particularly why you find all kinds of stuff in SF arms rooms. Hell, in my old unit we had some Swedish Ks, some FALs, G3s and AKs - even an MG42. Did we take them on missions? No way. But we had to be prepared to train troops of foreign countries who use that stuff (AKs, FALs and G3s being most common) and anyone who'd been through the Bravo Course had better be proficient with them.

I agree. I dont think posting up the Seal teams armory is violating OPSEC. maybe if there were active duty team members in their posing with uniforms on and name bands on, then yes. But Im pretty sure smglee got the "gtg" to post pics, and Im sure he asked first before he posted.

I would disagree. Now keep in mind I don't know the circumstances behind these pictures. It's obviously not good practice to project intricate capabilities and the MO of our military forces, and that goes especially for those who operate covertly.

LOL plinker!..........People, enemies, terrorists, bunny rabbits know the seals exist. The weapons that were shown is very similar to the marine corps armory, the army armory, and what not, just a little different types of weapon configurations. They are regular firearms that have all the attention and upgrades a regular infantry man would want. Most everything shown is available to the public minus the IR, thermal, anpaqs optictry and sbr and full auto-ness. And minus the light and heavy MG's. Nothing really "special" or "intricate" was exposed. No active duty service member in uniform was shown, so no OPSEC issues. No plans of operations, training exercises, nothing. Wow everyone now knows what the seals use, but they dont know when theyre coming, and thats all that matters.

BTW just about anyone can take a tour of the Naval Special Warfare Center (aka BUD/S & SQT) too include "The Centers" Armory.

You just need to contact to public relations officer to make arrangements. Every group to include "The Boy Scouts" has received tours via the PR people at BUD/S.
