There don't seem to be any takers even at this price, so I'm withdrawing it from sale.

I'm going to offer a like new Ruger GP160 with a new Bianchi #111 Cyclone holster for sale instead. I'd still like to raise gun money, so look for a new thread.

This is a S&W model 37 Airweight .38 special with a pinned barrel. This is a 37 no dash model, so as best as I can tell, it's pre-1962. The serial number is 1427XX, so you are welcome to date it. Please let me know what you find.

I believe it was a LEO's backup piece. The blueing is worn and the cylinder release is a bit sticky. It's a good lightweight revolver. It shoots great and the blueing wear is from carrying, not abuse. I bought it used, so the round count is unknown, but it can't be a lot as it's still pretty tight. Comes with Hogue grips.

I just added two more pics to give you a better idea of the blueing wear. If someone wanted to reblue it, it would be a very pretty handgun.

I want to sell this quickly, as there's something else I want to buy with the proceeds. If it doesn't sell at this new price, I'll just hang on to it and forget buying the other pistol.

$300. FTF in Sacramento.

If there is a J prefix before the serial number it was manufactured in 1973, if not it was around 1960....

Looks like a flat latch button. When did the 37s first come out? I thought the flat latch was in the 50s.

It is a flat latch. As far as I can tell, it's pre-1962 and quite possibly from the 50's. I really like it, it's a great size and easy to carry in a pocket. I'm just trying to raise some cash to buy another member's pistol. ;)

Based on the flat latch and serial number you provided I would say it's 1960.

I didn't click on the pictures to enlarge them, now looking at the pictures 1960...

Thanks Howard. I'm trying to raise some gun money and I just put some ammunition up for sale. If that sells okay, I'd much rather keep it. The blueing loss doesn't bother me in the least. ;)

I would buy this right now if I hadn't just bought a pistol, and have to do that darn 30 day period thing... This is a killer deal and someone needs to jump on it!

Good news, this is a private party transfer, the 30 day rule doesn't apply, so go for it......

One NEW handgun every 30 days. Buy as many used as you want!

Bobula, is mostly correct. When he says new, it could mean a new OR used gun if it is bought from a gun shop/pawn shop/FFL dealer. The law considers that "NEW" and is subject to the 30 day rule. Private party transfers are NOT subject to the 30 day rule.

I did a private party transfer last Friday, and am doing another tomorrow. If I bought the guns from a dealers inventory, I couldn't do that.

Go get 'um Noel.........

P.S. I'm not trying to hijack this thread. I'm hoping this helps the seller so he can go get his new toy...... ;)

One of you guys need to jump on this. If something hadn't come up, I'd already own it. If he still has it in a couple days, it's mine...

The seller is a real stand up guy, so buy with confidence!
