Does anyone here buy rebuild kits and then keep them stored dissasembled? If a SHTF situation occurs you could readily rebuild them and have some hi cap mags for home defense etc. Obviously this would be against the law. But in a major SHTF situation we're probably gonna be on our own without law enforcement or government for a while.

Yep, that's the only way to go! Here's a quick and easy way (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=185598) to keep your mag kits legal!

I only buy rebuild kits to rebuild my magazines that I owned prior to 2000.

Risky move...if you ask me.

definiteley not a good idea to buy rebuild kits for. If you dont have legally obtained pre-bans, i dont think anyone should by them for that reason. Sign up in the SHTF post on here somewhere, that way if something happens, you can link up with more people with firearms also. I havent signed up yet, but when you do, you meet everyone who signed up, have rally points through out socal, discussions, maps of areas of interest, medical talk, etc. I think the guy that runs it is a former military commando. Just stock up on lots of 10 rounders, lots of ammo. If you practice, and are a good shot, 10 round mags should work fine in any situation. 30 rounders are over rated.
