Im just geting started on building a ca legal Ar-15. I was very surprised you could build one of these. I shot one back east and it was awesome. I looked in to getting one and was very surprised that by following the law you could actually build one legaly. My first question is, The 30" rule for the gun is that with stock extended or collapsed? My second question is on the barrel should I go with the 16" or 20" or wich length to be legal? Thanks for any advice.

Collapsed.

16" is legal.

Be aware that there are more things that determine legality other than size.

Thanks. I know there are other things that also determine legality.
