Excuse my ignorance but what is the point of having a lower marked 22lr rather than a regular 5.56/223 marked lower?

Same Question.... most curious...

Main reason: for those that want to do a dedicated 22LR build complete with markings.

I guess the same reason some folks want the complete opposite and have it say "multi-caliber".
There are other reasons, but other than these, form/function is the same as regular lower.

Also a posibilty, that a person can configure the rifle however they wish in a rimfire configuration and be able to prove it is only setup for rimfire applications. Mine says 22 rimfire only
