Hi, was wondering is there a bullet button that you would consider better than the others? Which one did each of you choose?

For what an AR or AK?

AR = Prince 50 with wrench
AK = Assault Planet's AK Bullet Button

it really depends what you are doing. If you travel to places where you don't need it (AZ or other free states), maybe a freelock kit or the B-16 bullet button. If you dont just get a regular BB.

If you are just starting out, I suggest the Prince50 Bullet Button. I include a wrench, so you are covered in all states. It's the most basic, and from this platform you can upgrade to the Freelock Kit.

If it's an AR, I'd like the B15. The B16 is nice and clean design, but I'd take the B15 for its simplicity if you shoot out of state often.

I just got a Raddlock for one of my lowers and really like it. I picked it up at Independent Armament Company. I think they had a few more. The link below has a pick.

b16 is what I use, so of course I recommend it. Sleek design, easy instal, no mistakes.

I'd only get a BB w/ Freelock, wouldn't do anything else.

Own the freelock for BB, but prefer the BB Wrench. freelock is in a ziplock bag now in my toolkit.

It just seems to me that it would be too easy to get in trouble with a prince 50, Raddlock, or any type that lets you operate as either a BB, or normal mag release. And there has been talk (on these boards) that this type will be the first to be outlawed????

I'm sticking with my single-mode BB. I just don't trust myself to remember to switch it back to 'locked' if I travel out of state and come back.

Raddlock... 4 turns counterclockwise and you can rock & roll...outside CA of course.

Once you go B-16 you will never go back to other versions...try one...and you will see why.

Who makes the "Single mode BB"?

B-16. especially since it doesnt look like a regular mag release button like the prince 50, regular bb..(dont know what the radlock looks like) Im thinking that along the terms of LE obviously seeing that it looks different then usual and lends to your credibility when screaming "Give me my F'n gun back!"

Also, when out of state, easy to remove and AR is returned to its proper condition with its original mag release button now being accessible..

One that you can't switch between 'requires bullet tip to drop mag' and 'can release mag with finger.' Didn't know how else to differentiate regular BB from the ones you can adjust, and I don't know all the names of the adjustable ones...

I think mine is the best. ;). both of these came from my workshop. I really like the funnel style because it's hard to miss. I don't mind having to use 10 round mags just to keep the rifle configured as close to the original without being illegal. I also have the homemade wrench in case I venture out of state to shoot it the way it was originally designed.

Beware that the B16 doesn't fit some lowers. The ridges around the mag release button prevented a flush fit on my Kaiser Defense lower. Also, the aperture is pretty small, preventing you from using larger diameter tools for the plunger.

I went ahead and traded it out for a regular Bullet Button. I haven't gotten it yet, but from what I've seen, the opening is large enough to accept an open bolt indicator.

The ridge on the Raddlock prevents is from fitting my POF 308. Switched to the BB. See the great photo in rmasold's post above.

Prince 50 easily. Bullet buttons are a definite No-Go in my opinion, I guess if all you do is plink on a bench than its fine and dandy maby even superior. But if you plan on dropping mags for tactical training and what not prince 50 and radlock all day.
(out of state of course)

The Radlock I dont like because as you loosen the screw the whole assembly gets very loose and wobbley.

+1 for BB. 4 rotation of the mag catch onto the regular mag release button/spring and you can rock-n-roll...outside of CA

I think the problem is people are backing out the Prince 50 to release the mag thinking it "works" like the BB. a big no-no.

I personally use the freelock since i go to AZ so often.
