In case you don't want a visit from the DOJ: If my memory serves, the current law is that PPT handgun sales are limited to five per year. You might at least split the group up in different posts so it wouldn't be so obvious.

Talked to DOJ today about that and explained my sit rep...Selling some of these guns to buy a camaro and the rest for my wife's medical condition they said that would be fine

They said they will waive the annual limit for handgun PPT sales for you?

Interesting. I think I would want something in writing, maybe that's just me....

They said they will waive the annual limit for handgun PPT sales for you?

Interesting. I think I would want something in writing, maybe that's just me....

The five limit is an arbitrary number set by a bureaucrat sitting in his desk sent out by a memo that has been the rule of thumb ever since and since accepted as the law.

The written law acctual intention something about if you sell them as a business to make money or such and also to control the flow of firearms into the state and communities. The DOJ decided to interpret such as being that number according to Internet legend.

There is a FAQ I read at the DOJ website that states an exemption for things "like blah blah blah are exempt" and I remember one was selling an estate as executor or recipient for one time exemptions to selling several firearms at once that would normally require an FFL. Certainly I would say that selling a collection for medical bills would also follow under the exempt status for that alleged five gun limit memo guideline since used by the DOJ as law of the land.

I would simply write yourself a memo stating the phone conversation you had with them, note time, date, etc and what was said and by who. Print out this thread showing discussion of such, save medical records/diagnosis and you should be good to go.

Of course there is always a risk of the overzealous bureaucrat seeking fame/fortune/promotion/recognition/a romp in the sack with his secretary that can do whatever he wants because he works for the government and can disregard the law when they want, and when caught at worse get a "stop that" from their boss. One such fellow went by the name of IGGY the Piggy that shot his desk to death by accident, or was that two AD's as some have claimed at this website?

We need to keep these guns in CA boys. Lets help this gentleman in his time of need.

If DOJ has any questions they can contact my lawyer direct who recently has had some case's ruled in his favor brought on by DOJ.
Will not mention anything more. DOJ can look at this post and even contact me directly my Number is posted. That being said.
Thanks for looking out for my interest by the fellow calgunners.
That's what a community needs is others who look out for each other!!!
This is such a great site and really enjoy doing business with you guys

That's quite the corral of quality firearms you have there, mister.

I saw a stainless Bobtail 1911 in there. Yes I did.

There's also a two tone 1911 up top that made my naughty bits twizzle a bit.

Do I need to mention the Hi Power I think I saw, too?

Eeegads. I will be watching for future sales.
