Most of mine sit in the safe with an occasional trip to the range. Since I live in the People's Republic of Stanislaus County its highly unlikely I'll ever get a CCW and actually get to pack one around for personal defense against criminal attack.

Honestly, I use them to poke large holes in things that I want to within the limits of all local, state and federal laws. Yes, even the stupid, idiotic, head scratching, moronic, imbisilic, juvenile, liberal, pathetic ones that make absolutely no sense

I sit mine around a little table where we all share small cups of tea and stories about our days. It's been awkward the last couple of weeks because the Kimber and the Sig got into an argument over the pretty little Smith and Wesson, but it will blow over eventually and our tea parties will get back to the pleasant civility they once were.

i ready myself for "red dawn" as i am basically paranoid and afraid that rocks and sticks will not get the job done.... i also clean them from time to time as older w german sigs don't come cheap and are not all that plentiful in california. i cannot afford to go shooting and at this time am hoarding my ammo. i cannot even afford to buy more ammo to hoard!

I use them to answer which is the best caliber/brand/model handgun in the market. . . . . I don't have a definite answer yet so I'll need a bigger sample size.. . and a bigger safe.

Tac courses, self defense, and soon, Steel Madness! The ultimate goal is to get proficient at handgun fighting between 0 to 25yds to the point where I can engage up to three targets automatically, without having to think about it.

I try to go out shooting on BLM about once a week, but most of the time they're locked away safe. I do use them for protection when travelling/camping/hiking for my work expeditions, and my wife's fingerprint is registered in the bedside Biovault as well for those nights I'm away as well... I also like to stand in the mirror and quote Dirty Harry movies Erik! Nice...

I take them to the range at least once per month. They're for home defense too...but because of the kids and the new baby, my wife and I play "musical beds" a lot so I've stopped leaving one on the night stand lest my two year old wakes up next to an XD45.

Get a mini GunVault, quick to open and you can pick it up and take it where ever you may end up sleeping. I just got a bio mini GunVault and love it.

Now this is funny!

I used to do that too. Buy. Buy. Buy. And hardly ever shoot. No ammo at home. Multiple calibers. No holsters. Then they were all stolen.

I realized that I did not enjoy my guns. I was collecting average examples of things I liked and it was cool but losing them all made me redirect.

Now I buy stuff for specific purposes and if that purpose ends, I am not afraid to let it move on. Most purposes are competitive in nature although some are defensive. No more collecting. And this is coming from someone who can buy wholesale! The temptation to go MAD is always there.

Guns are fun. Use them. ;)

Watch them watching me because we need to watch the watchers.

Or is guard them while guarding me because we need to guard the guardians?

One sits ready for home defense. Sometimes I bring one to the range just to keep my skills up. My first interest in firearms was with pistols. But usually they sit in my safe.

I have one. I use it for practice and for HD. And since I've been able to maintain a reasonable stock of components, I reload so I can shoot unburdened by the recent shortage.

Turo
05-16-2009, 11:10 PM
Use 'em for Plinking mostly, when I have to use the range it's fine, but responsive targets are more fun than paper targets. As for HD, not yet, next year i will. Collecting is of course par for the course.
