I have a load of Small pistol magnum primers and a shortage of small pistol primers. I wanted to know if I can use them in place of small pistol primers.

My coworker said he only uses small pistol magnum primers in place of small pistol primers he just backs down the powder charge .1-.2 grs due the added pressure.

Has anyone tried this.

Thanks

I have used them, it's no big deal, but like others have said start on the low side of the Velocity scale and work you way up.. load up 3-7 rounds first go shoot them and compare you used case to a factory load case.. You can also use a slower burning powder too.. The general rule of thumb though is to lower your load powder by 10%..

Hope that helps..
