The Oakley thread got me thinking it be cool to have a thread where we could share some of the discounts available to LEO's.

So we know Oakley at Usstandardissue.com is one.

I'll add Verizon who gives 20%- 25% (forget which) off your monthly bill plus purchases. Just take your LEO ID to a Verizon store and they will add a permanent discount to your future bills. After it's entered, Verizon employees who pull up your account only see "vip discount". It's given to other occupations/organizations so they don't positively know that you are a cop.

I've been their over 3 years and haven't seen or heard of that one before.

If I go to one I've never been to I just ask the mgr. if they honor it. San Francisco store honors it and a couple of other bay area stores as well.

Obviously, it's not something that's posted but I've been fortunate to have rec'd it a few times for all kinds of gear.

Some of the better one's I've come across...

- In and Out burger has a discount button on their checkstand
- Benchmade knives (order direct)
- Amaga ranges forward scout rails (free flashlight rail upgrade)
- Most gunsmiths if you ask
- Bladetech holster
- Surefire LE dept (10-15%)
- Brownells (call and they will activate your log in account on their website with the dealer dsicount program)
- Midway (same deal as brownells)
- Califorina Casualty insurance (saved me $700 a year in car / motorcycle insurance... especially the motorcycle insurance)
- Farmers Home owners policy
- Sprint cellular (local governement rate aplies to monthly bill and purchases)

.. pretty sure that's not entirely legal, and definitely not ethical.
