Anyone have one of these ( Enhanced Micro Pistol ) in 9mm, just wondering what they are like to shoot. Accuracy and feel.

They seem a bit pricey, why so ?

Handled one at the range today, nice little gun. A bit more flippy than a regular 9mm but that's to be expected from such a short barrel. Accuracy was decent at 7 and 10 yards, I'd say a ~5-6 inch grouping but I'm not the best shot and the tight sight radius didn't help much either. Me being a 1911 guy the feel of the gun was just like every other 1911, perfect.

As to the price, 1911's can be finicky guns that require more attention to detail to run, and more importantly run reliably especially when taking into consideration the problems associated with compact 1911's. This usually translates into higher costs of manufacture. Things like polishing feed ramps, throating barrels, and improving slide to frame fit don't come cheap.

the grip circumference is on the small side. it's a really accurate small pistol imo.

i believe that it's pricier than the 1911's in springfield's line because 15 parts were redesigned for only the emp and therefore can't be used in other 1911's. that leads to additional tooling and manufacturing and with lower production, that cost is passed on to the consumer.

I saw one recently for sale, cost $1150 plus tax i was shocked but now i understand from what you are telling me about the production changes/parts that go into making these. Still they must make thousands of them. Or it would not be worth it to them to do so.

Ill add that one to my list.
