I just have a quick question. I recently found a box that was left to me by my grandfather. He passed away in 89. In the box was a 22lr revolver. I'm not sure on the production year but it was prior to 1943 when the model stopped production. I was told he bought it when he was 13. What do I need to do with it if anything?

You're over 18 now, and he gave it to you in 1989?

Do nothing but enjoy it!

No paperwork required before 1991.

If it's in good shape, take her out and shoot!

I wasn't 18 in 1989 but I'm well over now. No need to register it or anything, I would rather not. I just don't want to get in trouble with the law. It'll be my first handgun. I'm a long gun kinda guy.

Your problems are limited to proper ammo & target selection.

Enjoy it!.
