These days, if you are not ready 24/7, you won't be able to get anything.

This is a hell of a deal for $850!!

- The Saber 18" SS Flute barrel is $480
- The DD 12" Lite Rail (one of the BEST rail out there, light, and strong, and have that nice mono rail look) $360
- RRA BCG $120

Just these 3 items is worth $960!!! CH, upper receiver, gas block, upper parts kits, muzzle device, all those are FREE!!!

BUT with Troy's rail.... Troy's rail is by no means as good as Daniel Defense's!!!

DD has a slim, oval profile, very comfortable in your hands.... Troy has a round profile, much wilder, a lot more bulky, and less comfortable in your hands....

oh really? well that might change my opinion on it, i thought it would end up being heavy cause i was looking for a lightweight build. how much heavier is it to comparable 16in railed carbine length uppers?

Because of the fluted barrel, I would say it's about the same weight as an M4 standard upper with a free float rail. What do you think, Rhymenoceros?

Rhymenoceros
05-16-2009, 3:45 AM
Compared against my 16" LMT CQB MRP it felt a bit lighter (I didn't actually try weighing the two so this was totally by feel), and when I attached the 18" sabre on my lower it didn't feel as top heavy when motioning my rifle upwards compared to my LMT. My expectations after ordering the 18" sabre was to get something heavier than my first build, to my surprise it didn't feel that way to me IMO. Hopefully it will perform just as well as my LMT when I take it out to the range next weekend.

Guys... it is a DIFFERENT upper...

This one is DD M4 rail, NOT the light rail... BUT BUT BUT.... according to DD's website... their 12" M4 rails are 13oz.... while their 12" "light" rails are 14oz.... so the "light" is not lighter than their M4 rails.... lol

Also, the 3 ladder panels *may not* be included.... (that's $33 there!!)

PS. took one of those with light rail to the range this past weekend.... added a pair of troy sights, a Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10 LR/T, a harris bipod, a phantom muzzle brake, a lower with UBR..... the whole rifle feels much lighter than my Mark 12 SPR Mod 1 clone.... I really liked this PK upper.... the light combo.... the DD rail... everything is JUST right..... it is just one sexy upper!!

PPS. by the way, it is VERY accurate!! 5 shots group @ 100yds of BHA remanuf 68gr HPBT under 1", and of those, 3 of them are touching each other (ie. mickey-moused....)

from what i get no, the machining quality is different and how it fits and will function inside the receiver will be different. high quality ones should be smooth and should not feel like its getting stuck or has any uneven pressure as you're pulling the charging handle back
