I was in River City Gun Exchange yesterday in Sac and they have an Ohio Ordnance 1918A3 SLR (semi-auto BAR clone) in stock: http://www.ohioordnanceworks.com/semi-auto/SLR-semi.html

They also have a "qve" K43 on consignment for $2500 I think. I almost picked it up myself but thought better of it as it would've blown my gun budget for the year out of the water!

Man would love to have one, no kidding about wiping out the gun budget for the rest of the year! How much were they asking for the BAR?

From what I can tell $3500 - $3800.

You can find a 1919a4 in the $1300-$1400 range + the T&E + the Pintel and of course the tripod. Which would put you under $3000.
Which would really cool in the livinging room, but don't think the wife would go for it.

$4999....

But I guarantee someone will pick it up at that price if it hasn't already happened.....

$150 more to swap out the FH for a muzzle brake and replace the 20rd mags to 10rders?

I'm always amazed when companies can extract additional money for delivering less product. Porsche is a great example of this.

At that price I would get one M1D Garand sniper rifles. Have seen them on GB new and still in original wrapper for less than that. Still would be cool to have though.

I got my OOW BAR a few months ago and gave a bit of a range report. It's a real beast. 22lbs without the bipod. Very heavy and really likes the heavier ammo. Will not run on the underpowered Lake City ammo. Greek works as does any modern ammo. Quite a show stopper when fired at my little 25 yd indoor range. Better suited for fun at Burro or other larger range. Either way, it's a real ***** to clean. No "pop apart" technology like we have with the M4 or newer weapons. This requires tools and time. (about an hour of hard scubbing) to get it well cleaned.

It's more of a caretaker of a piece of history thing rather than a casual Sat. afternoon plinker. Well worth the price of admission. I have a guy on GB from whom I bought mine who often gets them (w/o the wait) from OOW. Any serious buyers feel free to PM me.
