I'm not quite understanding this...you already bought and are in possession of the PT1911? If that's the case, you're fine. Just register it with the DOJ ($19). You CAN have pistols that are not on the roster, and you CAN sell pistols that are not on the roster, so long as it's FTF.

That's an awesome pistol too man....

Pistol is with FFL. It has to be registered with an LEO first since its not on list, then it can be transferred FTF.

Ah....yeah, that's a problem. Your FFL doesn't have any suggestions?

Yes he does, he suggested I sell it to an LEO or in another state that allows it. It's also listed on snipershide. maybe will go to GB if not sold in a week.

Thanks for all the input, I appreciate it!

It'd be nice if an LEO in your area were to buy it from you and then sell it back to you ten days later (ya know...maybe he has buyers remorse or something:43: )

i was wondering how long it would be before someone brought this up.

You can do a PPT. Does not need to be a Leo.. Leos have the right to purchase, but once registered in calif, you can PPT... Come on now. Dont communist it here more then it is..

I think he bought it, had it shipped to his FFL, THEN found out that he couldn't transfer it. So I'm not even sure the legality of having it sit at the FFL. Strange situation.

If he did buy it not knowing it wasn't on the list it could still be sitting at the FFL legally, because they can hold it in their inventory as long as it's not sold to a simple civilian in CA. A lot of gun stores have non listed handguns in their inventory for the purpose of selling to LEOs or out of state.
