Going rates on these at mulitple shops in the Bay Area is the $195 to $220 range and they are not selling out. Those are fair prices for S&W. Lowers are everywhere down here, not sure if the same in Sac though.

How much did you pay for them?

Hopi
04-30-2009, 5:13 PM
$150-$175.

Honestly though, I've not bought any more lowers since Jan 2006, so my pricing estimate might be off...I paid $90 each for Mega lowers, $95 for Stags, and $120 for a Fulton Armory.....can you match those?

About $100-125 would be fair. There's lots of lowers in stock everywhere, no shortage anymore like what it was a few months ago.

Yeah, just a shortage of everything else. So lowers are like paperweights right now.

your current OLL pricing seems very fair considering the market right now. I'd love to see a -$10 discount for Calguns members.

I'd pay $100-150 for one, the deal is even sweeter with the $10 off for CG'ers. Considering I paid $330 for my first lower during the "scare".:kest:

All right, Back from a nice steak Dinner. I found these out east on a whim from a contact I have, and didn't pay dealer pricing on them That's for sure. (i wish) Check out my website in the next week, (around the 6th) and I'll get them up there. I appreciate the feedback and at somepoint WILL run a CG special. I'd like to have more product than these 18 to do that with. My RRA Middle man has been hammering them to get product out, so Maybe we run a RRA Lar-15 special when they are in.

Depends on how many the Lower Gods bless me with.

Do a special on something other than RRA. RRA are on the list by type and a lot of people won't buy them just because it's too much of a gray area. Get some Stags or Spikes, or run a special on POF's :D

If the Stag is $180... there's no way the MP will be close to that I'd figure... they sure are nice.

So I see the normal price for the Stag lowers are $225 but ON SALE now for $180. Also shows $180 in a seperate item listing for local pickup only.

Is it possible that due to the sale you may also lower the price for those of us able to pickup? Just wondering as you are in my area and I'm looking to do my first build.(featureless)

Local pickup doesn't pay shipping, saving you 10 bucks or so. I Transfer for only $35.00 plus DROS on the first gun, so I think 180 is Fair for a quality lower. As for the S & W's, I didn't get them for cheap, so I will be listing them for $210.00

Now Ask me about the Ton of KD Lowers just received. . . . $195 ish?

Decent price on lowers + low transfer price = Good deal for those local IMHO:thumbsup:

Ok I'm lost. What does a transfer price have to do with a lower sold by you to me?

I think he is just saying he is a good shop to go to. I doubt that $35 is going to matter unless you are having something transfered in.

What he should do is raise his transfer price higher, but then waive it for anyone who buys a gun from him.

I do $50 transfer plus $25 DROS, but waive that and piggy back as many long guns as you want if you buy any long gun from me. Then guys see the transfer cost as zero, which is much better than $35. However, in order to make it seem like a better deal, you need to have a higher transfer price.

Heck, I ought to raise my transfer fee to $75 or $100. For only $100 more, you might as well get a lower out of it.

The ins and outs of marketing.

Seems I'm getting trashed for how I am serving up the Lower prices. If I price them higher, you pay more tax, if I price them lower and charge a transfer fee, folks freak out!

If you buy out of state, you might find a better deal, but you still have to pay a transfer fee.

My goal was to remain consistant for all transactions that I had to DROS.(Sigh)

Thanks for the good advice all. It appears that I am going to have to put some sort of special up that waives this "Bulls$%& fee" as Smiley from Davis calls it for the purchase of additional products.

I called around today to check local lower prices. Every SINGLE dealer that stocks lowers is at LEAST 74 dollars higher in price. . .even after I add myBulls$%& fee" as Smiley from Davis calls it.

Lowers are just the beginning folks, LPK's and other goodies local. . . .Sounds like a deal to me!!

So was I really reading right? Are you charging a transfer fee on a lower that YOU are selling? I hope not.

isnt it just a dros fee if they go to your store? transfer fees are for out of state transfers ...

Actually, the Transfer fee is from FFL to FFL. Even if it's in State. It's the service fee they charge to accept your firearm. I purchased 3 Lowers from Wes at 10% last year and had them sent to Gunrunners in Duarte. Both FFL's are in CA, but I had to pay the $50 transfer fee for all 3 Lowers to Gunrunners.

okay thanks for the clarification.. def not FFL to buy...
