It seems that a baseball bat satisfies Santa Clara's definition of a firearm, which is not to be used in the city. Better lock up those little leaguers. And we can forget bringing the A's to Santa Clara. Hmmm, does a punter's shoe qualify? Maybe we should forget the 49ers, too. From the city code:

9.05.120 Weapons Discharging of firearms restricted.
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge, fire, or project (or cause to be projected, fired, or discharged), within the corporate limits of the City, a projectile weapon. For purposes of this section, projectile weapons shall be referred to as "firearms." Firearms shall include, but not be limited to, any gun, rifle, pistol, firearm, cannon (or explosive device of similar nature), air rifle, air pistol, air gun, BB gun, gas operated gun, pellet gun, flare gun, dart gun, paint gun, bow, crossbow, slungshot, slingshot, wrist rocket, or any instrument of any kind, character, or description which expels, launches, or propels a projectile of any kind with sufficient force to cause damage to property, or injury or death to a person or persons.

^ good call. My arm could definitely "propel" a rock with "sufficient force to cause damage to property". Should prolly stitch my mouth shut, too, I can spit a pretty wicked spit wad and maybe knock the petals off a flower

WTF is "corporate limits"?

Santa Clara is an incorporated city.

Like MOST cities in the U.S.

"Corporate Limits" are the city boundary lines.

WTF is "corporate limits"?

Within the incorporated city. Most cities (unless you are in a totally urbanized region) have outlying areas that are commonly considered part of an adjacent city but are actually unincorporated county property - unless and until it is annexed, the city has no authority there.

I have 2 of of those "powder-actuated" guns that shoots nails into concrete. One of them has a PISTOL-GRIP. I also have an 2 air powered nailers, a battery impulse nailer, and a gas-battery nailer. The air ones are semi-automatic rapid-fire with large capacity magazines. They are all UNREGISTERED and I also scratched out the serial numbers. I may have carried them concealed into banks and casinos and bars, I forget. I may have carried them loaded in my vehicle.

Oh, they are all very deadly if mis-used. When you "nail" somebody with one, they are really "nailed".

Nex time someone finds themselves held up at gun point in SC. They can rest assured the perp won't shoot for fear of violating that law.
