Ive have this one, and what I dont like is the eyepiece. You must take off glasses to look into, you must put your eyeball right in the hole. Makes it difficult at the range with safety glasses on, you must lift them up. Also max zoom the image gets a little dim, I say only good to 100 yards to see the holes in the paper and thats with someone that has good vision. I would try to find the type where your a couple of inches away to look into the eyesight, like on a rifle scope.

i thought it sucked. the simmons spotting scope at walmart is 10 bucks cheaper and clearer. the only problem with the simmons is that it does not have the shorter benchtop tripod.

the tripod sucks anyways, just gets in the way because the legs are short but very long so it sits really wide. just use a mini camera tripod, I still use the barska tripod so im not sure if a small camera type would work.

I have the all weather version and it works well in the desert, we can see up to 300+ yards and see things well.. you DO have to smash your eye on it tho, and thats what I dont like lol..
But not bad for the cash, the all weather version comes with a nice hardcase so thats why I go it..

You know I also have the all weather one, not the one in sale at big 5 but it looks exactly the same and im sure the eyepiece is the same. Just wanted to clarify that.

good working scope. only thing is you have to have your eye right on the eyepiece to see. excellent for the money though
