I love the constant references to how our "weapons" are constantly being smuggled into mexico. I'd love to smuggle some of their stuff here, but alas, I'm not a criminal.

I think this poll option should be changed a little: No. It was a mistake the first time around and it would be a mistake again. Existing gun laws are enough.
Should be changed to say: Existing gun laws are already infringing on our rights.

I don't for one second believe that Obama is backing off on anything regarding firearms, he's just not pressing quite so hard and formulating a strategy that lulls gun owners into a false sense of security.

I think we should listen to everything he and other antigunners say, and believe only a fraction of it that matches their track record. I will never believe that any of them will have a change of heart or mind.

I was just reading this article and was about to post it...

You beat me to it...

For starters, Obama has bigger fish to fry. In addition to that, a lot of Democrats that won in these rural areas (that were formerly held by stonch Republicans) are in no hurry to loose their seats in 2 years. Therefore, they're not going to toe the liberal party line on gun control because they know it would alienate their constituents. Obama knows this, so he's not going to push it, which I think is a wise choice. Plus, it's about the only industry in this country that's overwhelmingly in the black, so why would he seek to torpedo it...

From the sound of the article, even Pelosi is backing off...

I thought this article was a good read...

I didn't vote in the poll because each option is a no win for the 2A. I could see the next poll options on the anti's sites:

1) "Yes all guns should be banned",
2) "Yes, every gun should be banned",
3) "Yes, everyone's guns should be banned,"...

It seems that the people that have voted "yes" have no clue. They are keep talking about hunting guns or assuming assault rifles are full auto. Get a clue, no wonder you cant win an argument. Idiots.

Why do I need a military style rifle? Cause I live in the greatest country of all and its none of your business. Why the hell do you need to save trees?. Go plant more for each one lost. And frankly I more scared of someone with a scoped Remington 700 than an AK47.

he just said that he still "believes" that AWB are bad, but he failed to say if he will pursue his belief. but going after the Tihart Amen. seems to be a consolation prize. (if it passes)

Tiahrt protects us from abusive lawsuits, though!

I love how he lies about how it "prevents critical trace data" from going to the police. It doesn't.

You mean he's backed off this week. He backs off on odd weeks and is all for a ban on even weeks.

he has too, its apart of his 273 point plan to save the ecomony.

point 164 is to pretend to ignore the stock market

point 223 is to drive up gun & ammo sales by scaring gun owners sh*tless one week and re-assuring them the next.

I love in the video when he says "the gun ban, uh I mean the assault weapons ban". Nice try. This guy is worse than the rest of the gun grabbers cause he is a flat out liar. At least the others will tell you what they actually plan on doing. This guy just says what he thinks everyone within earshot of him wants to hear.

+1...I think the same. My thoughts are that it's too early in the presidency to try it. If he were he can kiss a second term goodbye. I think his plan maybe to stay in office...stabilize the country and get things back to normal. When the presidential races come around he will tout how he fixed the country and most of the sheep will probably vote for him again. That is when we should be concerned...he has nothing to lose if he gets re-elected and it will be a liberals wet dream after that.

In the end though...he doesn't have to ban the guns themselves..they are useless without bullets. All it takes is some new program that requires you to register and get some almost unobtainable license for gunpowder and you are done. You can have all the primers and casings you want...no gunpowder..no bullet.

Oh, I don't know if he can even make a week before he changes his mind again. Would that be an odd week? :TFH:
