View Full Version : I'm retiring.

After 18 years in, it's time. I'm going on 59, I have six years active duty USA, that plus 18 years on the job adds up to a decent pension.

It's up to you guys to fight the good fight from now on. I bought property in another state back in the 1970's, and built as I could afford. I'll be able to shoot on my own property, maybe get a couple of horses for the wife and I, and I'm not even going to watch the news anymore.

Shooting, reading, fishing, I'm going to start out every day with nothing to do, and by the end of the day I'll be half way finished.

I'll be around here for a while, and may check in sometime in the future, but I'm going to be pretty much through with the outside world real soon.

Thanks to everybody here on the site, I've enjoyed myself here.

Max,
There will be many here who will voice their jealousy of your retirement....and I'll be one of them!! 2 years, 10 months and 14 days but I'm not counting!!

Enjoy your retirement and stay active. Do the things you have put off for years to do. Life is just starting for you!!

Congrats on your retirement. Get your hi-cap mags before you turn in your active credentials unless you want to have to go out of state to get them. My partner just pulled the plug and was already denied the purchase. (he did manage to get them somehow :43:

Best of Luck ! I'll be along soon:

Enjoy your retirement, and thanks for your service. I hope to be not far behind you.

Retiring on some acreage in a gun-friendly western state. That's a sweet deal!

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

I feel like we've won the fight for the 2A, human nature will never change, and I've got a lot of living to do without worrying about what the outside world is up to.

The only publications I'll be reading are NRA, Shotgun News, Small Arms Review.

No high-speed internet access where I'll be, so the only reason I'll even have a hook up is to order movies through Netflix and books through Amazon.

I'll be getting Sat. TV, I've never had cable (too busy with life to sit and watch) so i'm looking forward to watching the History channel.

I've got a huge backlog of books to read, reloading to do, and the only construction left to do is a pool (must have) and stable and barn for the horses (possible)

I'ts going to be Me, my Lady, the dog & cat, maybe a couple of horses and the rest of the world can fix themselves.

You guys on otj, hang in there. There is life afterwards to live without all the stress and bull****.

Congrats on your retirement and thanks for protecting us from the bad guys.

My husband put in his 30 and is making up for lost time bass fishing. When he's not on the water, he's having coffee with the other retired guys. All of you deserve plenty of down time.
