Idle curiosity: I wonder what non-California-centric gun forums are saying about the Nordyke decision. But..I don't really read many other gun forums and my google fu is weak!

So could you folks who read other forums please post links to their Nordyke threads here? Thanks!

Here's one from THR.

From Frontier Sixshooter:

Seems like a mixed bag......

Incorporation is good, even though it is not the end word on this. Coming from the liberal 9th Circuit, though, I am encouraged that other Circuit Courts will fall in line with Heller.

However, the gun shows are still outlawed and it left in play the ability for them to ban guns from any public property, including streets and parking lots. That's bad. If so, you can't buy guns, can't take them home, and can't take them out for practice. They are only OK in your home if they are already there.

I started the thread over on ARfcom in the general forum and it's been generally well received. Glocktalk not too excited, FiringLine is rather slow.

Saying "2nd Amendment" and "California" in the same sentance is like saying "Cuba" and "Democracy"...just ain't gonna happen.

I think it's funny that so many posters on other forums are shocked, shocked that the 9th circuit could rule this way, whereas calgunners have known the probable result for months.

If someone's reflexive reaction to the 9th circuit is "9th circus? HURR!!1" then I suppose we shouldn't be too upset that this helped make somebody's else day.

I've seen a suspicious amount of "DOES THIS MEAN I CAN GET A FOLDING STOCK HIGH CAPACITY FNC IN NEW YORK" type of threads. Not just on other forums, but here too (in the form of CCW permits and bb removal). Seems like I have to keep reminding everyone that this is not an end but a means. The crowbar, so to speak, which pries the door open, which alone does nothing but without, nothing can be done.

Sorry if posts confusing...its 3 in the morning.

Hopefully this decision will cut down on the number of anti-CA posts in other forums. The ones where someone who doesn't live here, knows nothing about gun laws anywhere and does nothing for the cause spouts off about how terrible CA is, how CA gun owners are all idiots for living here and "allowing" bad laws to be passed, how all black rifles are banned, standard-cap magazines are totally banned, blah, blah... These are typically the same boobs who refuse to join the NRA because they might get some fund-raising "junk" mail.

not for me. the only firearms forums im even interested in is calguns. i cant even hazzard to think how many people ive sent here over the years. over the years, anytime (when i had my shop) anyone asked me a california related firearms question, even now, everytime one of my clients asks me a firearms related question, i tell them what i know to be fact of course, and then i tell them "go online and hit calguns.net. they can get you on the right track".

man, it sure would be nice if this decision straightened out californias bullsh*t gun laws. i think that as things eventually trickle in from other courts, etc there may actually be a light at the end of the tunnel.

as far as any future assault weapons ban goes, i heard that now even fienstiens saying that it wont ever happen.

Here's one on the GunBroker forum. Few seem to care since there is no fodder to start a California bashing session.

I woulndt give much credit to someone who can't even spell sentence correctly.
I KNOW my spelling is an atrocity- but Riot sounds like a hater to me.
