King's GUn Works in Glendale informs me that will be carrying OLL -- stripped only, and will NOT sell parts to someone who buys an OLL -- when I asked how much they were selling these stripped lowers for, he said, "Between $250 and 700 dollars" because they are only going to sell "the good ones."

Are these like Saddam's gold plated AKs? Is that why they're so pricey?

Have you checked Gunbroker?
last two OLLs I bought (Spikes) were under $100 each -- ten months ago -- guy said they were going to go after the "finest quality forged and machined lowers -- not castings."

I think all of this is insane, but I know where it comes from. There is a real feeling of "get iot now or lose it"

Remember, the original Federal AWB had a SUNSET DATE, and even then the price of rifles was up for YEARS and only came down when the ban subsided. Obama is promising (eventually, probably not until after 2010 mid term elections) a PERMANENT BAN.

Once all the crazy new spending programs and energy taxes and tax increases are signed in, they'll risk losses in 2012 -- because those deals will be irreversible.

Right now ammo is as scarce as AR parts. Buy whatever you can afford (and canned food, too -- does this feel like the CArter years to anyone else? Remember "Survival condos?" in oregon?)

Oh, and BTW they told me that BB were too "gray" an area and they would only transfer guns with mags "locked" in a la DS arms welded in dealio.

Wow, a $700 OLL better do SO much more for me than just function as a rifle...if you know what I mean.
