Calgunners,
I've been reloading 0.223 - using Remington brass. Picked up some Winchester brass - the Winchester seems to have a more consistent primer flash hole plus seems to be higher quality overall.
Have any of you noticed this? Or is this just a one-off thing perhaps?
Thanks,
jwest

Always preferred the Winchester to Remington. Better quality and I've experienced longer life expectancy with Winchester cases as well.

Remington is softer brass.

Thanks guys - proof's in the pudding.
I also think the Winchester brass is easier to deal with as well from a brass prep. point of view.

Winchester is a much better brass in just about all calibers.

I prefer Winchester brass as well.
Whatever you do, stay away from Lapua brass.
Once you try that stuff, you will think everything else is crap.

Randall,
Yes I see now that a lot of the reloading recipes call for Lapua brass - thanks for pointing this out.

Remington brass is not softer, it tends to crack at the mouth after only 2x to 3x firing. If you anneal the brass then it's a toss up.
