ok i ordered some 10/30 pmags and i cannot seem to get them to stay in the AR. it has a bullet button but if i wiggle them a little bit they fall right out. anything i can do to make them stay in? i mean if an LE checks it to see if it is a fixed 10 round and the mag falls out i am screwed, i just want to make sure they stay in. any suggestions?

Check to make sure the bullet button is screwed in all the way down. This tightens up the mag catch a little.

it is as tight as it can be, all my other mags work fine, just not the pmags.

take a pic of how you have it installed and show us if you can.

probably pretty damn annoying for the user though. hahaha

yeah well it is annoying, and scary at the same time. all my other ARs they fit in great, just not this one. i think maybe the magwell might be just a little bit too big. its supposed to be spec but who knows.

it only falls out when the upper is on, with the upper off it fits tight as hell

That really sucks, I have nothing but pmags so I'm going to try to watch this for a resolution, only have 1 lower for now, so hopefully I don't get a dinker

Change out the mag catch.
I had a S&W lower and had the same problem with the mag catch when using the newer design Pmags. Once i switched out the mag catch. The problem went away.

so the problem is SW lowers or LPK?

Sounds like the the distance from the hole to the top of the mag is a bit too far for the magazine catch to latch on to the hole.

S&W M&P15 LPK is the problem. Their mag catches seem to have problems with certain magazines.

Not sure about stag LPK. But when i brought my lower to riflegear for them to check out. They just replaced the mag catch and it fixed the problem.

hehe. i wouldn't sell my pmags either, as i KNOW it has to be the lower or something about the lower and not the mags. pmags rock. i've got some USGI mags that suck, pmags are awesome. and no, i don't drink the magpul koolaid, they just work

Is the bolt open or closed?

Some of the mags I have will only catch if the bolt is open. Interference from the bolt carrier. Probably isn't right, but it doesn't affect function. So I don't really care.
