So I thought I would go ahead and give my marlin 795 a deep cleaning from shooting it so much. I was SLOWLY taking apart everything and all a sudden a spring shot off and parts were everywhere. I could use some help getting everything back together. I was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of a complete assembly guide so I can get her shooting again. If you can could you please post some pics of the internals so I can go by that?

Already looked at it. I stripped it further than that manual shows. If anyone can give me a reference picture, I'd really appreciate it!

Check out the Power Point at the link below. It's for a M60 but the 795 is VERY close to the same. As you know the M60 is tude fed so where the lifter is on the M60 you have a mag well.

+1 on that slide show. I watched it a few times before putting together the latest Model 60 that I picked up (it was a ziploc bag of parts) and it helped alot.

I usually go to the Numrich Arms website. If they've got a takedown parts picture I can take it apart and put it back together. I'll bet alot of people do that, might be wortha try.

I am very frustrated right now. I really need someone to guide me through this. I have no idea what I'm working with. The model 60 is similar but it doesn't cut it because it's different enough for it not to work on my 795. I think I'm going to need a web cam style guide through. Can somone just pm me and we can video chat and you can show me the internals and help guide me throught this!!!?!?! I'm sad...

will be home at 920 pm tonight. PLEASE HELP! I'm pretty sure I've almost have everything together. I'm not positive but I think all I have to get back together is 5 parts and that's it. Unless I'm unknowingly missing a part when the thing blew apart.

Hey man, that totally stinks. Have you tried calling Marlin directly and speaking to a tech? Maybe they can email you some schematics or talk you through it.

You might also want to try posting at rimfire central or the Marlin owners website for some help. Good Luck, if worse comes to worse, just hit up a gunsmith.

What I believe to be the only parts that I need to install. I think I collected all the parts off the garage floor when the internals erupted all over the place....

Ok, part #1 in your hand is the "Charging Handle"(8) it just sets on top of the bolt in the slot.

Part #2 is the "pin"(1) that holds the entire assemble in the receiver

Part #3 & 3a are the "Detent(9) & "Detent Spring"(10)

All numbers in () are the corresponding part in the owners manual on-line.

HotRod with the save!!!!

Looks like the op got pretty far by himself, the positive side to issues like these is now you know your gun inside and out!

the last thing I am confused about is how to get the hammer and spring to not shoot apart. Right now I have a paper clip holding the thing together... See my pic :-P

Thanks! Thanks for taking time out to help...

Alright... Whew. after much help from HotRod 9mm, I was able to get everything back in it's place. I went ahead and put the stock back on and everything and it passed the function tests. After that I had a smile on my face, and then I noticed that I had an extra e ring that isn't on my gun... Ater numerous picture checking I couldn't see where it went. I'm just wondering if you guys ever took your 795 apart and had the same issue? Is it okay to shoot it without it? Doesn't seem like a critical part...

The one thing that i see that is crucial, but missing is the bolt bumper. Its that plastic thing sticking up on HotRods pic. Its all the way towards the back. It has a pin that is held in by an "E" clip. This might be were the "extra" one you have goes.
