I am thinking trade off my new unfired Romanian PSL to Olympic arms model 98 cast AR type rifle in the photo. I am a newbe to AR and want to have one. I found man willing to trade his to my PSL. I just don't know much about AR type rifle and need opinion from you AR experts. Any possible legality issue arise from this deal? How do you evaluate this? He said he bought it 10 years ago and have fired about 200 round. have kept well. no scratch.

if he bought it ten years ago, it is probably listed, which would make it a no go as far as him transferring it within this state. check the list and see if it is listed.

Appendix B AR series listed Olympic Arms: AR-15, Car-97, PCR (all)
The current owner of the rifle in the photo found "Olympic arms Model 98 cast"
lettering on the lower receiver. Is it considered OLL?

You need to know what is exactly marked on the reciever.
Try to get him to take a picture of the left side of the reciever.

AFAIK...
Olympic Arms 98 was used on their gas-piston pistol line, not on any of their DI rifles/carbines.

Olympic is about as low down in quality as you can get for a name-brand rifle. It's also a cast receiver.

I wouldn't do that trade.
