I'll never watch that garbage station again for as long as I live.

That 20/20 special was a complete hatchet job and prep for a bigger attack on the second amendment to come soon.

Do not support ABC. They don't support you and are actively working to take away your rights.

If I want Diane Sawyer's opinion, I'll watch this...

I forgot about that, but I'll never forget the Jessica Savitch incident. This isn't the full broadcast, couldn't find it, but she was TV's hottest up and coming star. She died in a car crash 20 days after this nationwide drunken broadcast:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wYljtbA7hY&feature=PlayList&p=1D61C82174F6DF85&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=11

Strangely enough, she mentions the constitutional right to own a handgun

Thats right! A tiny minority decides just what you see on network TV. They don't change Nielsen families very often either. You have a better chance of being approached by the ARBITRON people who do the ratings for commercial radio stations. I have done it twice before including just last year. They paid me 10 bucks, to fill out a survey for one week and then mail it to their address in Maryland. Boycotting advertisers is all you can do.

All of those networks have their anchor desks in anti-gun New York city. FOX doesn't like us either. Why else would they employ the former girlfriend, of an anti-gun US attorney in Seattle Washington, who was behind their measure 8 handgun ban in the early 90s. They won't disclose Lis Wiel's long term membership in the Gun Control Lobby when she peddles her Brady Bunch propaganda on the air...

Vote with your wallet.

You're absolutely right about voting with your wallet... sometimes it's just not possible because these corporations are just so darn big and have so many subsidiaries. For instance, Sara Lee Corporation is notoriously anti-gun as well... good luck boycotting them!

The only things you can really do are:

1) Donate money to pro-gun organizations (i.e. NRA, this site, etc) when you can afford to.

2) Open up an NRA credit card and make all your purchases and utility payments with it. Every purchase you make puts money into the NRA coffers.

3) Educate people. Take non-gun owners shooting.

4) If the gun issue is that important to you, vote accordingly.

So because Disneyland is apparently a "required" experience, it is OK to support a company that is trying to undermine your rights and your freedom to go to places like Disneyland? In a socialist society, do you think that fiefs like you and me will be able to afford going to Disneyland? Seems to me that spending time with your kid is far more important than taking them to commercialized theme parks. I'm not saying that I will or will not take my kid to Disneyland, I just won't put perceived "required" experiences over my convictions.

Back to the original topic, I don't watch ABC anyways. The liberalism just oozes from their news stations and programs. CBS is a close second. I generally try to avoid watching much TV anyways, its just junk food for your brain.

You're not "robbing" your kids of anything. There are other things you can do with your kids. If your relationship with your children depends on Disneyland, that's pretty sad and wrong.

You guys ***** and moan about the increasing irrational hate for gun ownership but when it comes down to it, you don't want to be inconvenienced. You guys are just making excuses. Heaven forbid you give up anything to send a message to help protect a constitutional freedom.

Typical lazy Americans. Complain all day about something but don't do anything to change it. The anti-gun crowd are counting on your complacency.

Well done. I was going to suggest that we follow the money back to the sponsors, but you have already done that.

I watched the "If I only had a gun" episode of 20/20 last night and while the title would suggest an invitation to purchase or carry a weapon- every story was filled with reasons why people shouldnt have a gun.-it will be used against you-it would accidentallty kill innocents- average people cant handle it- etc etc etc... There was no opposing view. If they were fair, they would have had gunowners who had sucessfully defended themselves or others like the man who had defended the police officer who was being beaten during a traffic stop.

Life on Mars just had it's series finale. Eli Stone's toast except for the last 4 episodes to burn off.

I don't count "ABC Show X" as sponsors. That's like calling your employed wife your sponsor. You are one legally bound unit.

I already avoid Disney movies like the plague, I don't deal with their sponsors except maybe Universal Studios movies, and I'm not a Nielsen respondent.

I'll keep watching Better off Ted, Castle, Greek (ABC Family), Grey's Antatomy, and Private Practice though.

The only network I have sworn off is CBS, for canceling entertaining shows.

Yeah, that's what I said. Disneyland is fantasy, the people who own Disneyland being anti gun is real. Boycotting ABC, it's parent companies, and sponsors may not be much in the way of fighting back, but at least you're not funding their anti-gun campaign.

And, it conditions your kids to perpetuate this BS with their own kids. If a company actively promotes a political position through its owned media outlets I say the primary or event subsidiary businesses that cater to "entertainment" for children might also have some ulterior motive:TFH:

I say take the kids shooting instead of Dismaland. All of their friends will be green with envy.

Someone said that hitting the sponsorship wouldn't do any good. I have to disagree considering that right now the ecconomy is bad and even companies that usually make good profits are scrambling to stay afloat. If they get hit with a big enough boycot or protest they may at least pull their sponsorship of 20/20 or ABC in general. While I will watch one show that is on that station I don't normally watch ABC.

My sister is in TV advertising. I showed her the list of sponsors and she said that they may not have known that they would be advertising on that show. They buy their ad packages out almost a year in advance. She did mention that they are hyper sensitive to bad feedback. If you contact them and tell them that you hate that they sponsored that anti gun tripe they might make sure that doesn't happen again in the future.

You are welcome. I plan on going there within the next week if I can.

I say boycott the above.

But make sure you also give a pat on the shoulder for those companies/organizations like Knotts that are showing sensible policies towards us.

I would love to see at least 1 email/letter/phone call to the pros for every 5 or so blasts we send out to the anti companies like ABC and their advertisers.

BTW good point on the fact the advertisement schedule is probably set way in advance. I bet the same companies advertise on FOX news. Still hit them to put pressure on the network!

BUT ABC/DISNEY CAN NOT BE LET OFF THE HOOK ON THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also a stockholder in one of these companies and I have a sell order in for Monday. Ya know, it might be just as good if not better to take the opposite approach and instead contact the companies we each own as stockholders and voice our views with them. Who would you listen to if you were them, someone who doesn't own stock or someone who does? It seems far less effective to complain from the outside.

Do the Dodgers co-sponsor gun buy back programs? Their arch-enemies do it annually at AT&T Park and it's always on the news in San Fransicko.

Better stay away from Progressive Insurance too. CEO, Peter Lewis is another radical George Soros type, who supports most of those left wing causes with his millions of $$$. He is just one big reason why you can buy marijuana in 20 San Francisco stores; and smoke dope as a cure for diarrhea of the mouth, with a note from a quack doctor. It doesn't take a lot of brains to know (that he would have supported Proposition 15 handgun ban in 1982) if he was around in tose days too...

There is nothing to see on ABC since Monday Night Football moved to ESPN and Ted Koppel retired from NightLine several years ago.

I don't watch my NBC affiliate either, except for the local newscast at 11 PM. The network's programming is a constant deluge of New York city's anti-gun BS. Come to think of it, those wackos on MSNBC are even more biased than the radical Pacifica Radio gang...
