I searched but all i can seem to find to this is threads about Yugo SKS's and flare launchers.

What is the legality of having a grenade launcher that fires dummy grenades. like an M7 for a garand

are these legal but fall under an " evil feature" ?

I'm pretty sure California considers them destructive devices, which is interesting, since many other devices which have the same function are not, like the flash suppressors on AR-15s, which also serve as rifle grenade launchers.

If it can fire real grenades, its a no-no

Well, an M-16 FS can, and so can those of a number of rifles, like the FR-8, and thoase are not considerd to be destructive devices. It is pretty much whatever the decree of the day is. If it only can be used for such a purpose, or has to be attatched to the gun for that purpose (like those of the M-14 and M-1), or if it is the Yugo one, I'm almost positive that they are considered DDs. For others, they are not. I don't think there's actually any criteria for such devices other than what the DOJ says.
