Use Tor (http://tor.eff.org), save the world... Or just San Diego. Or maybe just a poll in the "Beach and Bay Press".

Seems to be going through some pretty radical changes in percentages. If it's not just throwing out random numbers, there probably have not been that many votes to begin with. Unless the Constitution-haters get to it or it's a fake poll, the next issue should publish the results in our favor.

Results WILL be published in the print version that comes out biweekly. Whether they are accurate will be impossible to tell. This isn't Gallup, this is a crappy internet poll script.

If not entirely correct, it's not surprising that more support open carry than not. San Diego is relatively conservative (compared to most other places on the coast).

Actually took a moment to read the article and  for Nathan. The retaliation from LE comment seemed a little :TFH:, but, I liked Nathan's simple closing arguement at the end. To the point without a lot of BS.

RE: the article...
1) "300 people" approached Cptn. Zimmerman personally to express concern... yeah right.
2) PC12026 does not "permit" firearms to be carried openly. The reporter obviously didn't read/understand the statute she was referencing. In fact, there is no statute that "permits" open carry... it's simply not addressed in law.
3) The author portrays the situation as one of mass histeria. Not only do I doubt the author witnessed anybody panick, I would be surprised if she was even present at the event at all.
This story is a pretty sorry excuse for journalism. It is not objective, it is full of poorly researched misinformation and propaganda from the SDPD brass. Where have all the honest journalists gone?

She wasn't, judging from her responses. I wrote a story (http://thebutterzone.com/2009/04/01/wild-west-not-so-wild-after-all/), sent it to her (the editor) after she was interested in the initial pitch (to which she asked What is an "unloaded open carry meet?"), and this was the response:
Thanks for the story. What is your involvement with the group? Were you part of the meet-up, and are you part of the Open Carry group? How did you hear about the "protest?" If we do run the story, I want to make sure I give full disclosure about the person who wrote it.
Also, I may have to do a little background work to tighten up the story. For instance, I will have to call the police to check no arrests were made, and attribute the fact to them. Since the story is small, I would pay $15 as for a brief and $10 for the photo if I run it.
Thanks again for sending the story.
After my perfectly reasonable reply to that, she cut off all contact with me, and did not even reply to a resend, before the paper came out, and surprise!:mad:

we won this poll by a landslide.
for future reference, make poll links be "cold" links. if they're hotlinks, the site hosting the poll can tell where the traffic came from, and they can then pull the results, claiming they were skewed.

89% support people's rights to openly carry unloaded guns in San Diego, 11% do not.
Also, last months poll, "Do you agree with SDUSD's decision to end the JROTC marksmanship training at Mission Bay High School?", which had initially been printed as majority yes (forget the exact split), received a correction. It was actually majority no, 78% no to 22% yes.
